History of Rosario Resort
Moran mansion, Rosario's main building, was originally built in the early 1900's and changed hands several times before becoming Rosario Resort and Spa in 1960. Tile flooring, mahogany paneling, and stained glass lighting are distinctive original features of this well-kept property. The grounds span over 30 acres, with guest rooms and suites in buildings of varying proximity to the mansion.
Accommodations and Packages at Rosario
Rosario's 116 suite and guest rooms afford unobstructed views of marina, gardens or Cascade Bay. The most sumptuous accommodations include the "Cliffhouse Honeymoon Suite" and the "Roundhouse" which both offer dazzling views of the bay as well as luxury-class basics like jetted tubs or heated floors.
Hillside accommodations, located about 1/2 mile from the mansion, may be more attractive to nature lovers, as deer commonly graze beside these guest room balconies.

Rosario Spa
The Rosario healing philosophy seems to be "reconnect with nature". This embodies the unique attributes of the Rosario experience: luxurious facilities and service combined with the healing powers of the earth to restore balance.
With so many spa treatment options, it can be hard to decide, but one can't go wrong with the spa's signature treatment, the "Rosario Legend". This treatment has 3 stages:
- Detoxification or Exfoliation: Green Tea and Pacific Seaweed Salt Glow or Lavender Soy;
- Rehydration and Repair: Clay Mask Body Wrap or Hydra-Oxi Gel Mask; and
- Massage: Antioxidant Body Butter or Lavender Soy Lotion.
According to the spa services menu, this treatment "focuses on the connection with our environment" and "embodies change, renewal, and a uniquely personal awakening of the spirit." Highly recommended after a hike in Moran Park.
Wildlife and Hiking
The trail head leading up Mt. Constitution (2409 feet high, the highest point in the San Juan Islands) in Moran State Park is less than 5 minutes' walk from Rosario's guest rooms.
The park boasts 33 miles of hiking trails, 11 miles of biking trails, and 6 miles of horse trails, plus water activities like fishing, swimming and sailing, as well as bird watching and wildlife viewing.

Getting There
Less than 100 miles from either Seattle, Washington, or Vancouver, British Columbia, Rosario is a pleasure to get to. Guests may arrive by plane, car, ferry and/or water taxi. Warning: departure can be more difficult. Guests generally never want to leave.
